Hi.

Welcome to my blog! I write about life, career, decision-making and other fleeting interests here.

thank you for the ride.

thank you for the ride.

Today, I completed 5 years at Uber. After this incredible ride, I have decided to move on. Feeling remarkably grateful for having a front row seat — watching this company grow from 300 to over 17,000 employees today.

Here’s my email to my colleagues. Looking forward to catching up on some reading and home food :)

Dear Uber Family,

It feels pretty surreal to share that I am moving on from Uber. After 5 amazing years here, I’m taking a break to get some R&R time with family and use it to figure out what's next.

Uber will always be more than a company to me. It has redefined my sense of purpose at work and given me close friends and family in the process. I’ve been fortunate to work across several teams in this journey including ops, comms, policy, brand and marketing. From helping launch Uber India to waking up the Prime Minister’s office at 2 am to get our fearless leader a visa into India; to dealing in 3 way, often violent negotiations between government, taxi unions and our drivers; to teaching the Mayor of Dallas how to say Namaste; to creating an Uber Eats food show around the world -- it has been everything I could’ve asked for and more.

I am grateful to my early India ops crew, my thoughtful policy and comms team, the Uber Elevate team and the insanely talented brand and creative team here in SF - thank you all for your passion and commitment. Thanks to Travis Kalanick for showing that with principled thinking and passionate execution, you can bend the arc of tomorrow towards progress. Thanks to all my wonderful managers - Jordan Condo, Kiran Vivekananda, Shweta K, Rachel Whetstone, Betsy Masiello, Bozoma Saint John and Chris Brown. Special heartfelt thanks to Swathy Prithivi for saving me a seat on this cross-continent Uber ride and to Bhavik Rathod, Amit Jain and Allen Penn for entertaining all my outlandish ideas over the years. Working with you all has been the greatest privilege of my adult life.

Thank you for everything.
